Tennis Muse

“Tennis Muse” painting depicts the Imperial Age statue of the Torlonia Nymph with a sport-inspired detail—a hat atop her head. The nymph symbolizes the intense focus and concentration seen in athletes. Her head is slightly lowered, a clear indication of her deep concentration. The juxtaposition of the classical statue with the sporty accessory creates an intriguing blend of ancient and contemporary themes, capturing the essence of dedicated athletes immersed in their mental preparation before a competition.

The statue is housed in Rome at the Torlonia Foundation and is part of my “We ART the Champions” series.

The painting is done with acrylic colors and stucco on cotton canvas. The edges are painted and the signature is present on the side and back. The artwork is ready to hang and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity. The surface is finished with a double layer of mat varnish, which makes it resistant to UV rays and the passage of time.
